Lesson 10 - The Preferred Platform for Traffic

Let's talk about what paid traffic can do for you and which platform brings the best results

Traffic

From Lesson 4, you learned that there are two different categories of traffic: paid and organic. 

Paid Traffic

Naturally, paid means it requires payment.

However, you see results quickly and can target people in different stages of the customer journey.

Think of it as a firehose – you can aim it wherever you want.

Organic Traffic

Organic traffic is free (yay!), but you must be strategic about your approach, it can take a long time (years) to see results and can’t target audiences as well.

Think of it as a water sprinkler.

I’m not saying that one is better than the other – not at all. They just serve different purposes.

You need both organic and paid traffic to evolve your business in the long run.

Our aim here is to drive as much reliable and consistent traffic as we can through your funnel in order to properly test, iterate and optimize it, so speed is the name of the game here. 

I mean, would you rather find out that something isn’t working 1 week or 1 month into it?

Preferred Platform Advantages

We prefer Facebook.

Why? 

  1. Facebook is still the most popular social media platform to date.

    • As of July 2021, the latest statistics show that Facebook continues to be the king of social media, with 2.85 billion active users. This means you will find the people you’re looking for on there.

  2. Facebook ads has more nuanced targeting so you can reach your exact audience.
    • You can advertise to people by age, interests, behavior and location. If you really know your clientele, this is gold because then you can pinpoint exactly who to show your ads to.

       

  3. Facebook ads have an advanced pixel that you can link to certain events and can provide more powerful tracking insights.
    • Especially useful for when you need do a retargeting campaign – you can make your ad follow the exact group of people who landed on your sales page and didn’t make a purchase.

  4. Facebook ads allow you to showcase your brand, which makes you stand out so much more and can easily attract the people you want.
    • For example: you can use images or video on Facebook, whereas with Google ads you only get 2 lines of text and the color and font are chosen for you already, so all the ads look the same.

Preferred Platform Disadvantages

  • Yes – we’re going to make the Zuckerbergs even more wealthy 🙁 

  • There are certain words related to psychedelics or spirituality we cannot use or else we’ll get ban so we’ll work around it.

    However, this true on every platform because psychedelics are still illegal in most of the world.

    Which is why it’s so important for you to build your OWN email list so you’re not restricted in how you share your message.

Most Overwhelmed Healers have either did paid ads themselves without success, or have never engaged with it before and just heard from others that it’s expensive. 

…On that note – it’s expensive compared to what? Price is relative.

If you know that you can get out $20,000 from putting in $2000 for ad spend, wouldn’t you do that all day long? I would! A 10x return on investment is amazing! 

In either case, they are discouraged and not open to paid ads…which is such a shame because what you’re missing is qualified leads and this is what will bring them to you in the shortest time possible.

It really is a ‘chicken-or-egg’ situation.   

Now we have gotten out of the realm of funnel building and into getting traffic so it’s a whole other ball park of marketing.

I’m sure as a psychedelic coach you have more important things to do – like coaching your own clients – than to spend your precious time learning how to run ads yourself. 

My philosophy has always been to stay in your own wheelhouse, stay in your zone of genius and collaborate with others with complementary skill sets to help each other out.
